Associate Lawyer

Samantha C. Olson joined Putnam & Lawson as an articling student in January, 2014. She spent part of her childhood as a resident of Morinville prior to her family moving to St. Albert. Samantha currently resides in Morinville, having moved back in July 2015. Samantha received her high school diploma with studies in the International Baccalaureate Program from Bellerose Composite High School in 2007. She then obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University College of Alberta in 2010. Samantha was admitted to law school shortly after and graduated with her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013. While studying, Samantha was a member of Pro Bono Students Canada, assisting in a pilot project that enabled students to draft wills for low-income senior citizens under the supervision of a lawyer. She was also a member of her school’s Community Outreach volunteer program. Samantha traveled to Spain to gain valuable exposure in a cross-cultural setting to take a short-term law course. Samantha articled with Putnam & Lawson and was called to the bar in May 2015. She currently works in general practice consisting mainly of family law, civil litigation, personal injury, and residential real estate. She is working toward her collaborative family law designation and assists with wills, notaries, and commission for oaths services at the firm. Samantha currently sits as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce and as a director of Sturgeon Victim Services, and in her spare time Samantha enjoys traveling, hanging out with her four younger siblings, and snuggling her Manx cat, Tala.
