Gordon D. Putnam, Q.C. was raised in Sturgeon County and moved to Morinville in 1996. He has two children, Typhani and Ayden. From a very young age, Gordon was taught by his grandparents and parents about the value of contributing to his community.

Gordon started working for Sturgeon County in 1984 and worked there for five summers while attending the University of Alberta to complete his Bachelor of Arts with distinction and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He began his law career as a lawyer with the firm of Thomas Walter & Co. in Gibbons in 1992. The firm opened an office in Morinville in 1994 and in 1996 Gordon became a partner in the firm and the name changed to Putnam & Lawson.

Gordon has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel Lawyer on December 31, 2009. His main areas of practice are real estate, corporate, wills and estates, subdivision, and land development.

Gordon has been involved in a number of organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Homeland Housing (formerly Sturgeon Foundation), which oversees all of the senior lodges in the Sturgeon, St. Alberta and Westlock regions. He is a member of the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission. Gordon is also a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Morinville and served as President in 2011/2012. He served on the Morinville Minor Hockey Association Board as Vice President and President.

Gordon enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and yoga. He is known for promoting the entire region, including the Town of Morinville, and was elected to Town Council in 2013.
